Name: Joram Kelborn
Race: Human
Homeworld: Mandalore
Age: 38
Biography:
Joram's father, Hondo Kelborn, was a Mandalorian warrior of minor note. Growing up on Mandalore, Joram was raised with the expectation he would be a warrior of some kind. With such expectations, he did everything to meet them, and in most regards appeared like a typical Merc, if still in training. This was not untrue, he was tough, focused and while not inclined to start fights without reason, was unlikely to back down from one. Once he got to the age where he could fight, his warrior side really came to show. He was ruthless, killing when he needed to, capturing when he had to. However while ruthless, he was never cruel or malicious, the way many of his fellow Mandalorians were. He would not hesitate to kill a man he was fighting, however he did not care to kill those he considered unarmed (His interpretation had more to do with were they able to fight, rather than did they carry a weapon), and saw harming prisoners as cowardly.
While he was generally quite close to his family, particularly his younger brother Maxil (6 years younger), Joram generally traveled by himself after he completed his verd'goten. With the death of his father when he was aged 20, his contact with family decreased from infrequent to possibly visiting once a year.
The last job he took as part of a full group was 9 years ago on Nar Shaddaa, where a local Hutt hired him and 19 other Merc's, only 2 of whom were Mando, to clear a rival's forces from a conflicted District.
To call the Job bloody was a massive understatement. The Hutt had pulled strings to ensure law enforcement were looking the other way, and so while the 3 Mandalorian's were reasonably controlled, the remaining 17 mercs turned the district into a small warzone, showing no restraint of any kind. In the chaos, Joram and the other Mando (one had been killed) retreated into an alleyway so as to get clear of a trigger happy Trandoshan with a rocket launcher.
As they tried to catch their breath however, Joram noticed one of his blasters had been stolen, and so turned to see a terrified looking Miralian girl pointing the stolen blaster at him. Joram, knowing the Safety was on, moved to take back the blaster, to discover the girl had turned it off, as she shot him in the shoulder.
Before his companion moved to disarm the girl, Joram told him not to, saying she would need a blaster with the mess they had helped make of the district. Joram and his companion by this point had decided any trace of honor had left the job, and so decided to make their exit, also helping the young Miralian out of the district.
Joram and the other Mandalorian parted ways once they were clear, however for multiple reasons, partly respect that she shot him, and partly because he felt responsible for putting her in harms way, offered to look after her, and teach her to look after herself.
Joram soon adopted the Miralian, Lihadiria, as a daughter, and when she turned 8 (a year after they met) he began training her as a Mandalorian, and member of clan Kelborn.
Joram only saw his brother Maxil 1 time, 1 year into Lihadria's training, before the new Mandalore called the clans to war. As Lihadria's training was underway when Mandalore called, Joram was unable to respond.
A month after Locust prime was taken by Mandalore, news of Maxil reached Joram. Hearing his brother had turned on the Mandalorians during the battle before fleeing hit Joram hard. He accepted rumors that Maxil had been killed while running without question, for otherwise he would have to face the knowledge his brother was a traitor, and mark against the Kelborn name, and the possibility he might have prevented it had he not been so distant.
For this reason, when Lihadria faced the verd'goten 3 years ago, Joram opted to travel and fight alongside her.
For the past 3 years they have worked primarily as bounty hunters, though they take what work comes their way. As far as Joram knows, or cares, his Maxil is dead, and his daughter is all the family he has left.
